Book Review by Grace
Arf
by Spencer Quinn
Arf is about Bowser, the dog who “writes” the story is the hero. At his house, there is a break-in, and the same guy tries to murder his owner, Birdie, and her friend Drea. She finds the bad guy at her house and he dies of a heart attack from fear of the dog. The victory is Bowser’s again! In the middle of the book, Bowser thinks he is the best. In the end of the book, Bowser tackles the bad guy’s kid and gets his wallet. Bowser likes writing about when he is being big and brave, when Birdie is singing in the shower, when bad guys die, when he is the hero, more about when he is the hero, and that he never gets scared. Spencer Quinn is a very funny author, and Bowser is a very funny, proud dog - hero! I would say more, but I don’t want to spoil the end. All I will say is that the bad guys get busted and Bowser eats bacon.
